The Five-step guide for Cancellation of Optimum Services
Step 1: Set a cancellation date
This is a crucial step as they might overcharge you if you don’t plan it accordingly. While setting up your cancellation date, make sure you schedule it before your billing cycle ends and cancel before the next billing period kicks off. Even if you make it to just one day of the new billing cycle, you have to pay for the rest of the month, no matter how many days you have used. So, schedule it accordingly.
Step 2: Call the Retention department
Unfortunately, Optimum doesn’t offer any online cancellation service. Make a phone call to the respective retention center and introduce yourself. Then, make yourself clear that you no longer need their service. Keep in mind that the calls are received only on weekdays ( 8:00 AM to 7:45 PM) and Saturday (9:00 AM to 6:00 PM)

Step 3: Pack your equipment
The next step is to pack the equipment in a box. Carefully pack the apparatus in the box, including the cords, remotes, a bill labeling who you are and where you are from (you shouldn’t miss a thing because they charge you for the missing items) and then seal it. Print a FedEx label and paste it outside the box.
Step 4: Locate the nearest FedEx office and then drop off the box for shipping.
Step 5: Photo proof the box and the bill while dropping off as it helps in case the package gets lost while shipping.
