Buyer Cancelling the Order

There may be many reasons for buyer to cancel ebay order, in such a case seller must immediately be informed because if the order get dispatched the he cannot do anything.

Process of cancelling the order, made within last hour- Since the product has yet not been dispatched you can make the request to cancel the order with seller by performing these steps:

Go to ‘Purchase History’ of your website profileLook for the order to be cancelled and select ‘More action’ drop down menu.  Select ‘Cancel the order’ and ‘Submit’

The request will be sent to seller and the order will be cancelled once the seller approves it. Now if the order was prepaid the process of refund will began and the buyer would be informed about the same and if not paid the order will be cancelled and settled immediately. 

Process of cancelling the order, made more than an hour ago- Since there are possibilities that the order has been dispatched, you need to make the cancel request and wait for the seller to respond by performing these steps:

Go to ‘Purchase History’ of your website profile. Look for the order to be cancelled and select ‘More action’ drop down menuChoose the option ‘Request to cancel the order’ and ‘Contact seller’Mention the reason for order cancellation and submit the ‘Request’.

Now, if the order has already been shipped and seller declines the cancellation request you need to wait for the product to arrive and then start a return request.

Note– You cannot cancel the order if you have already reported about its non-arrival or have returned the product. 

Seller Cancelling The Order

There are circumstances when seller may need to cancel the orders, they can do the same through ‘My eBay’ or the ‘Seller Hub’ where they can proceed with following steps:

Select ‘Sold’ in My eBay or ‘Order’ in Seller hubLook for the order to be cancelled and select ‘More action’ drop down menu.  Select ‘Cancel the order’ and ‘Submit’

 A seller can cancel the order up to 30 days after the purchase has been made but that can surely affects the seller performance level on the website. If it was cancelled because the buyer didn’t pay on time, any complaint left by the buyer will not be entertained and the seller standards won’t be affected. In case, order was already paid by buyer the refund process will began and the buyer will be informed about the cancellation.

Hence, both buyer and seller can cancel the order with utmost safety and convenience, if the order was paid before cancellation the buyer will be informed about same and the refund process will began immediately but if the order was dispatched before cancellation by buyer, the buyer may need to pay the service fees(as mentioned in terms or condition) if informed with the product.
