Such calibration can be really useful when you need the maximum precision for the use of touch input on your device. Sometimes touchscreen may misbehave as if you tap on the screen. But if it shows that you tap somewhere else, it means you need to calibrate your screen. Also, many OEM devices manufacturers ship out devices without properly calibrating the touch input, which is responsible for the touch accuracy issue. Here are the steps to calibrate and improve the experience by calibrating the touch screen in Windows 11/10.

How to Calibrate Touchscreen on Windows 11/10

Technology changes day by day, and touch screens are new-gen technology that needs extra care before calibrating using the tool. We have to clean the screen regularly because the screen is extra sensitive and sometimes due to dirt or anything else that may harm the devices. However, make sure to put the device in a safe place as some extra pressure of other things may also damage the sensors and the LED screen. 

Calibrate Touchscreen through Control Panel on Windows 10/11

  • Press the Windows icon from the keyboard or click or touch the windows icon from the taskbar to open the start menu.
  • Now search the Calibrate to open the calibrate tool.
  • Next, tap or click on the calibrate Display color to open display calibration.
  • Then the new tab will provide you with some information about the display calibration. Tap on Next to go to the next page.
  • After that, select Calibrate the screen for pen and touch input(it will show in a device with touch features).
  • It will open a new tab of Tablet PC settings now select the calibrate.
  • Next, click on touch input, and if you have the support of styles with your system,m then select Pen input.
  • For authorization, it may ask for confirmation from User Account Control. Click on Yes.
  • Now the screen goes to calibration mode, and you will see a crosshair on the top left corner.
  • Tap it to calibrate the screen and tap it repeatedly to calibrate the entire screen of the display. It may take 16 taps on the crosshair to complete the calibration.
  • After completing the process, you can save that data or reset it if you are not satisfied with the result.

Update the Drivers to use the calibration on Windows 10/11

Before using any troubleshoot or other feature, the essential task is to check and install the updated version of all the drivers, including the touch drivers. Due to the old version, it may create issues and be hard to use regularly.

  • Right-click on the Windows icon and select Device manager of your system.
  • Now navigate and click to expand the HID driver ( Human Interface Device).
  • Then search the Touchscreen driver ( Something similar to HID-Compliant Vendor).
  • Right-click on the driver and select Enable, and if enable option is not available, click on Update to get the feature.
  • After updating the driver, if you can’t find it, again right-click on the driver and Uninstall and restart the system. It will automatically install the default driver.
